I’ve finally managed to have a little play with the orbis ringflash I bought the other week. It’s really quite impressive for the money, but a little awkward to hold when using manual focus. I think I’ll make my own mount for it as I don’t think the orbis people can really justify such a high price for a small lump of alloy! This was shot on the Fuji S5, with my new 28mm prime I was also testing, bought purely for portraits like this!

I've been wanting a ring flash for ages now, so i made of them DIY speedlight adapters and had a play. I'm definitely going to buy one now, along with a 28mm Nikkor prime.

 

I'm going to get my backside into gear this year too, got so many ideas i want to do, I suppose now is the time to get on with them before going back to Uni at the end of the month.
