Acoustic Gathering 2011

20 September 11

September 11 th saw the return of Scarborough’s largest free music festival ' Acoustic Gathering' in Peasholm Park. With this being it’s 6 th consecutive year it proved to be as popular than ever, with huge crowds and huge entertainment. Throughout the day there was a variety of local acts showcasing their talent, which started at 12 noon and ran all the way till 10:30pm.

This year’s headliner was 80’s pop group ‘ Red Box’, who put on an epic performance, and were really nice guys too! Famous for ‘Lean on Me’ (1985) and ‘For America’ (1986) they have now released their third album ‘Plenty’ which you can find here.

Trails Around the Dales Tour

06 September 11

On the 3rd & 4th of September I had the pleasure of joining a number of musicians as they toured around the Yorkshire Dales raising money and awareness for Ellie's Fund. The charity, based in Scarborough, helps families of children with brain tumours and other cancers, as well as raising brain tumour awareness.

Over the weekend the musicians played in Grassington, Appletreewick and the beautiful Bolton Abbey, managing to raise £403.53 - now that's a lot considering we were in the middle of no where!  Massive thanks to Samuel Holmes for putting the whole thing together. Fingers crossed for next year!
